Taliban delegation meets Qatar’s Amir and Haniyeh in Tehran
The Taliban delegation, during their trip to Tehran, met with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, and Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas Political Office.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared images of this meeting on the X social media platform on Thursday, May 23.
Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Taliban, and Amir Khan Mutaqi, the Foreign Minister of this group, participated in the funeral procession of Raisi on Thursday.
Abdul Ghani Baradar and Amir Khan Muttaqi paid their respects to Ibrahim Raisi and Hossein Amirabdollahian’s bodies upon their arrival in Tehran on Wednesday, May 22.
The Taliban delegation’s meeting with the Amir of Qatar and the head of the Hamas Political Office also took place on the sidelines of the funeral ceremony for Ibrahim Raisi and Hossein Amirabdollahian.
Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdullaian along with several other Iranian delegations were killed in a helicopter crash on 20 May.
