SCARLETT Moffatt has been issued a warning by fans concerned over a “dangerous detail” in her son’s playroom.

The Gogglebox alumni, 33, was inundated with a slew of messages after she showed off the re-vamped space for little Jude, aged 11 months.

Fans branded the exposed silver plug sockets, seen to the left of Jude’s mirror in this snap, as ‘dangerous’[/caption]

Scarlett took to her Instagram page to showcase the stunning re-vamped space, complete with squishy grey and cream floor tiles and a huge jungle wall mural.

An array of cuddly toys line the floor while huge amounts of soft play and a ball pit take centre stage.

There’s also a playmat and fun personalised artwork on the wall.

A huge grey sofa finishes off the space – and gives Scarlett and her partner Scott Dobinson a place to watch their little boy with his toys.

Yet eagle-eyed fans were quick to call out a fault, calling her out for not covering her plug sockets.

One took to the comments section to muse: “Plug sockets not covered.”

Another noted: “Anyone else think SOCKETS !!! ha ha… baby proof those lovely,” as a third commented: “Please cover those plugs next to mirrors he will think they are to touch as next to mirrors. Love the room xxxx”

One then put: “Ya need that electric wall socket covered up.”

It turns out, however, that the fans were wrong and UK plug sockets do not need to be covered.

In 2016, The Department of Health updated their guidance, saying that “electrical socket inserts should not be used in health or social care premises, nor supplied for use in a home or residence. Any socket inserts currently in use should be withdrawn and responsibly disposed of.”¹.

This is because British plugs have shutters that shut off access to the mains.

Also socket covers are unregulated and using them means the protective safety mechanism in the socket can be disabled.

Covers can also damage the socket, potentially lead to overheating and risk of fire.

Scarlett has previously hit back at cruel mum-shamers who called her out for sharing sweet snaps of her newborn with her dog.

She also fought back criticism after taking the tot on a sun-soaked getaway.

Yet recently, fans were full of praise for the former Saturday Night Takeaway star after she showed off her postpartum figure in a swimsuit.

BABY REVEAL

The TV star gave birth to her first baby in June 2023.

At the time, Scarlett proudly posted a snap of the tot and revealed his name.

In the image caption, she wrote: “Jude Xavier Dobinson.

“My darling boy I can’t stop crying looking at you as I can’t quite believe you’re mine.

“You wanted to meet us early at just 35 weeks. Me & your daddy love you so much that I can’t even put this feeling into words.

“Our heart and soul feels complete & ready to burst. I will forever and always be grateful to be your mammy.

“I can’t thank @scottdobby enough & to the midwife’s Helen & Charlotte & all of the NHS team at Durham Hospital.

“You will all forever hold a special place in my heart for looking after us all with such compassion. Let the baby bubble commence.”

She later told how she created a “party atmosphere” in the delivery room.
