A MAN has been arrested after a school bus full of children was smashed by a tractor in a horror crash – seriously injuring a pupil.

Four people are in a serious condition after the smash on the A227 near Meopham in Kent at around 3.25pm yesterday afternoon.

Bus Crash in Kent Leaves At Least Five Children Injured....At least five children have been taken to hospital with injuries following a collision involving a bus and a tractor in Kent. The incident occurred on the A227 near Meopham, close to the junction with Chapman's Hill, around 15:25 BST, shortly after the end of the school day.....Emergency services, including the air ambulance, paramedics, police, and firefighters, swiftly responded to the scene. According to Kent Police, several passengers on the bus, including the children, sustained injuries and are receiving treatment in hospital.....The collision happened on the A227 South Street near Culverstone Green, police confirmed. Authorities have urged witnesses and anyone with dashcam or phone footage of the incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.....A spokesman for Kent Police said, "We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to contact us as we work to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident."....The crash has led to significant traffic disruptions in the area as emergency services continue their operations. Further updates on the condition of the injured children and the progress of the investigation are expected as more information becomes available.
A tractor was involved

The bus driver and 12 children were taken to hospital and four more treated by paramedics.

One child remains in a London hospital in a “serious but stable condition”.

Three others are being treated for serious injuries in local hospitals, Kent Police said.

Cops scrambled to the scene along with paramedics, firefighters and an air ambulance.

A 33-year-old man from East Sussex has now arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The man has been bailed to return to the police station pending further investigation.

Officers are now appealing for dashcam and phone footage of the smash on the A227 South Street near Culverstone Green.

Yesterday South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “We treated and conveyed 12 patients to local hospitals.

“One patient was airlifted to Kings College Hospital and four other casualties were discharged at the scene.”

Snaps from the scene yesterday show around a dozen emergency service vehicles lining South Street near Culverstone Green.

A taped-off police cordon surrounded the tractor, with its scoop still raised, and the smashed bus.
