WATCH: Police Drive SUV Through Hospital Emergency Ward To Arrest Man Who Molested AIIMS Doctor
The Uttarakhand Police made headlines as they drove an SUV right into the emergency ward of AIIMS-Rishikesh to apprehend a nursing officer, Satish Kumar, who was accused of molesting a female doctor on May 19. The incident, captured in a viral video circulating on social media, depicted a scene similar to an action movie, with the police car seen driving through a crowded emergency ward, with rows of patients in beds on both sides. A group of security officials are also seen clearing the way for the SUV, pushing stretchers carrying patients out of the way. The car zooms ahead with several police officers visible inside it.
Satish Kumar, hailing from Rajasthan, faced immediate suspension and arrest following the allegations of misconduct towards Vadini, the female doctor in question. Apart from the reported molestation incident, Kumar was also accused of sending an inappropriate SMS to Dr. Vadini, as confirmed by Rishikesh police officer Shankar Singh Bisht.
The news of the incident triggered a wave of outrage among the hospital’s medical staff, leading to a strike and protest outside the dean’s office. The doctors demanded strict action against the offender, urging for Kumar’s dismissal. The escalating situation prompted the doctors to escalate their concerns to the police, further intensifying the standoff.
“The doctors demanded Kumar’s immediate termination of service, adding that mere suspension would not suffice for the offence he had committed,” Medical Superintendent Sanjiv Kumar Mittal told PTI.

Despite the strike by senior and junior doctors since Tuesday, emergency services and 90 per cent of the hospital’s operating theatres remain operational. Mittal said a letter was sent to higher authorities requesting Kumar’s dismissal, and Sinoj was given 72 hours to explain his actions.
In another video that has surfaced online, a team of police officers can be seen surrounded by the protesting doctors, as they take the accused man into the SUV.
A nursing officer at AIIMS Rishikesh has been suspended and detained for allegedly molesting a junior resident doctor, sparking protests by medical students demanding his termination.

Kumar allegedly molested a doctor on the hospital premises on Sunday evening and sent her an obscene SMS, said Rishikesh Kotwali SHO Shankar Singh Bisht.
