Peppa Pig fans stunned as Hollywood A-listers make their debut in wedding special of hit BBC children’s show
PEPPA Pig fans have been left absolutely stunned as Hollywood A-listers are set to make their debut.
The long-running couple have been together on and off since 2016 but they are now going to celebrate love on the BBC show.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have just been announced to be joining the cast of Peppa Pig.
The duo will be featured as part of the 20th anniversary wedding special of the long-running children’s show.
Three special episodes as part of the ‘Peppa Pig Wedding Party Special’, will air from May 25.
They will play brand-new characters on the show which will exclusively air on the Channel 5 children’s programming block, Milkshake!
According to Entertainment Weekly, California Girls singer Katy, 39, will play friendly neighbourhood dressmaker Ms. Leopard in the children’s series.
Her character will help the community prep for the huge wedding on the show.
Meanwhile, her partner Orlando, 47, will voice Mr. Raccoon who is a jeweler who will help Mr. Bull and Ms. Cow prepare for their ceremony.
Both of the stars recorded their contributions before the start of the SAG-AFTRA strike, amid calls for actors to seek a fair contract with streamers and studios within Hollywood.
Toy company Hasbro announced that Katy would be joining the show last year as bosses praised her as the ‘perfect fit’ for the show.
Olivier Dumont, President of Hasbro Entertainment gushed: “We’re incredibly thrilled to have such an A-list talent join the family-fun adventures in PEPPA PIG!
“As a loving parent and fan of Peppa herself, Katy Perry is a perfect fit to voice the character of Ms. Leopard.
‘This is just one of the many exciting projects we have in the pipeline for fans and families to commemorate PEPPA PIG’s 20th anniversary in 2024, such as live events and attractions, products and partnerships, Peppa parties all over the world and much more.”
Katy is of course mother to Daisy, three, whom she shares with the Troy actor.
Peppa Pig first made its debut on-screen in 2004 and has been airing on TV for decades ever since.
Eight series of over 390 episodes and multiple specials have been produced to entertain children over 20 years.
This also included a 72-minute film called ‘My First Cinema Experience’ that was released in 2017 which was made up of previously unreleased episodes of the shows fifth series.
