Over $2k worth of jewelry stolen off a woman, 73, in Queens: NYPD
ELMHURST, Queens (PIX11) -- Authorities are searching for the person accused of stealing jewelry that a woman was wearing while she was distracted on Friday in Queens, according to police.
Police said the suspect rode up in a car to the 73-year-old victim. The woman got out of the vehicle and started talking to the victim around 1 p.m.
The suspect placed jewelry on the victim. While the victim was distracted, police said the suspect removed the victim's necklace and bracelet before leaving the area in the car she was driven up in.
The jewelry stolen from the victim is valued at around $2,250, according to police.
Police provided video and images of the alleged theft.
