McDonald’s launches new Monopoly-style game with huge prizes including £200 cash – and it starts in DAYS
MCDONALD’S is launching a new game with free cash worth £200 up for grabs – and all you have to do is buy chips.
The fast food chain’s Surprize Fries will kick off on May 29 and last for five weeks, until July 2.
The new peel-to-play promotion will give customers the chance to snap up millions of prizes.
You just have to buy a portion of medium or large fries, for £1.69 or £2.19 respectively, which will come with a sticker on the back.
One-in-three stickers will reveal an instant prize which can be redeemed in restaurants, and two-in-three will feature a code to enter into the McDonald’s app.
The app is free to download on to your smartphone via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Fry fans can snap up a variety of prizes, from free items including Big Macs, apple pies and milkshakes, to £200 in free cash.
There’s also rewards points up for grabs which can be used to get money off future trips.
Anyone who enters 10 sticker codes in the app can also unlock a “Bonus Fry” of 2,500 MyMcDonald’s Rewards points.
These rewards points can be redeemed on menu items or used to buy another portion of fries.

Meanwhile, any prizes must be claimed by July 9 or will be redundant.
McDonald’s regularly offers customers the chance to snap up prizes through promotions, including its Monopoly and Winning Sips games.
McDonald’s Monopoly launched in 2005 and lets customers collect game pieces when they buy specific products.
These pieces can then be redeemed for prizes or rewards points.
Winnings Sips is more similar to the new Surprize Fries game, with fans able to peel stickers off medium or large soft drinks which can be redeemed for prizes.
The announcement of the new game comes after McDonald’s fans were left gutted after realising the Biscoff McFlurry is to be axed from menus within days.
Meanwhile, the iconic Happy Meal is set for a huge shake-up – the biggest in more than a decade – as part of a UK trial.
Four new menu items are coming to the Happy Meal range.
How does McDonald's Rewards scheme work

1,500 points is worth a small fries medium salad, regular McCafé®, mini McFlurry®, hash brown and regular drink.
2,500 points is worth a Vegetable Deluxe, Bacon Mayo Chicken, Cheesy Bacon Flatbread, medium fries, Double Cheeseburger, an apple pie
5,500 points is worth a McSpicy®, Mighty McMuffin, McCrispy or a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese.
You can also choose to donate any loyalty points to one of McDonald’s partner charities.
You can unlock rewards points via the Rewards Menu in the MyMcDonald’s app.
These points can be redeemed at the Kiosk, Drive-Thru, Front-Counter or via McDelivery®.
The Sun’s Chief Consumer Reporter James Flanders was one of the first to put them to the test.
How to save money at McDonald’s
You might not think it, but you can end up paying more solely based on the McDonald’s restaurant you choose.
The Sun has found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30p cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.
Meanwhile, you can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 by filling in a feedback survey found on any old McDonald’s receipt.
The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.
You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
Make sure you check out all the various apps and platforms if you’re ordering McDonald’s to your home too.
Our research found some can charge up to £1.20 more than others.
