Mickey, Minnie, Disneyland performers vote to join labor union
ANAHEIM, California: The instantly recognizable Disneycharacters who roam California's Disneyland have voted overwhelmingly to become unionized.
The Actors' Equity Association labor union said in a statement Saturday that 78.7 percent (953 votes) cast ballots in favor of joining the union, while 21.3 percent (258 votes) opposed union membership.
There were 1,700 Disney employees eligible to vote.
