Elden Ring fans get a deeper look into Shadow of the Erdtree – including a new boss

FANS have been waiting for more Elden Ring ever since the base game launched in 2022.

In February 2024, it was revealed in a short trailer that a new story expansion would soon launch for Elden Ring, called Shadow of the Erdtree.

The first trailer was filled with Easter eggs for fans to find, but didn’t show anything too substantial for people to understand the DLC better.

Elden Ring players were excited to hear that another trailer would launch before release, but this one has also raised more questions than it answered.

We see Miquella, a minor character from the base game who has a much larger role in Shadow of the Erdtree, walk along a gory path before holding up what could be a part of the Elden Ring.

The narrator talks about a tyrant Messmer, who was purged from the world, but we see him here along with a number of new enemies.

We also got our first look at a new boss for the expansion, which is some sort of beast in heavy armour.

The ending suggests that the main quest of Shadow of the Erdtree will be about finding Miquella, as we see a group of pilgrims entering the Land of Shadow to find him.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree launches for PC, PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S on June 21, 2024.
