Farioli, who was offered at 4/1 at the beginning of the week, assisted De Zerbi at both Benevento and Sassuolo before taking his first top position at Fatih Karagumruk in Turkey.
He then managed Alanyaspor between December 2021 and February 2023 before being appointed as manager of Ligue 1 side Nice in June 2023.
The 35-year-old enjoyed a fairly productive debut campaign in France when guiding his squad to a fifth-placed finish and securing Europa League qualification.
The Italian has an attacking philosophy that often sees up to five players behind the opposition’s second line of press, including the striker, wingers and two number eights.
And his work hasn’t gone unnoticed with Dutch heavyweights Ajax also eager to bring him to the Johan Cruyff Arena this summer.

Ipswich Town’s highly-rated Kieran McKenna has drifted to 2/1 having been priced at 6/4 following De Zerbi’s departure.
McKenna, 38, is in high demand having masterminded Ipswich’s astonishing back-to-back promotions to the Premier League from League One.
But with the Tractor Boys back in the English top flight for the first time in 22 years, it’s unclear whether McKenna would be prepared to jump ship.
There’s also another obstacle in Brighton’s way with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United reportedly showing interest in the Northern Irishman.
