Gamethread: White Sox at Blue Jays
Garrett Crochet attempts to resuscitate an ailing South Side team
Happy Tuesday, White Sox friends, and happy Garrett Crochet day. The White Sox kick off game two of a three-game series in beautiful Toronto tonight, and it’s safe to say that the modicum of optimism Chicago fans felt last week has once again died down.
The Blue Jays aren’t a bad team, although they’re underperforming so far this season. They sit at the bottom of a competitive AL East division, so neither tonight’s match nor the series will have an immediate effect on standings.
Speaking of standings, in case you missed it, the White Sox are once again, and for the third time this season, the worst team in baseball. Hooray.
Crochet faces a Jays team full of righties, and although he’s been throwing fire, this will be a challenge.

Garrett Crochet u5.5 Ks
Crochet has been dealing so far this year, but tonight he gets the toughest strikeout matchup in the league vs LHPs in a Blue Jays matchup that has the lowest K% against LHPs over their last 15 days and second lowest in the league over the season.… pic.twitter.com/bxcl6nI2g4

Yusei Kikuchi (2-3, 2.60 ERA) is 1-2 at home. He threw nine strikeouts in his last outing against Baltimore and has been going pretty deep into the game this season.
Yusei Kikuchi has thrown at least 6 innings in 6 consecutive starts - matching his career-high.
