FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Good Tuesday Evening,

After the warmest day of the year today with highs again in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees, we will continue to watch as we have one or two pop-ups ahead of sunset tonight. Overnight, we will enjoy mostly clear skies, with temps well above the normal (54°) dropping only into the mid to upper 60s.

Wednesday, clouds will increase ahead of a cold front. With a possible decaying bit of energy moving into our area, that might hold together enough to give us a few mid to late morning showers, but better chances of rain and storms will arrive later in the day. The Storm Prediction Center has put most of our area under a level 2/5 "slight risk" for severe storms later in the day.

The main risk associated with the rain showers will be for strong gusty winds, as it will already be a breezy day without storms. There is also a small chance of seeing some hail, and brief periods of heavy rainfall. Highs on Wednesday will remain in the lower to middle 80s ahead of the cold front.

The front appears to stall in the southern part of the state for Thursday, and with the boundary nearby, and plenty of moisture in place, we will still have the threat of showers, and non-severe thunderstorms through the day on Thursday, with more seasonal readings in the mid to upper 70s. That boundary will push away on Friday with some drier air initially, but more rain and storm chances later in the day with highs in the lower 80s.

Expect a few morning pop-up showers on Saturday ahead of a warm front that will lift north. The rest of the day should turn out nicer, but warmer and muggy with highs in the lower 80s. Expect a few pop-up afternoon storms on Sunday and Monday with a stalled boundary across our area. This will keep more clouds in our forecast, and rain chances on and off. All this said, temps will stay in the upper 70s on Sunday, and mid to upper 70s on Monday.

Tuesday the front will be to our south, with a few isolated showers north of the boundary in our area, with cooler temps only in the lower to middle 70s.
