Chad Michael Murray Talks Marriage to Ex-Wife Sophia Bush, Details First Experience with Agoraphobia During 'One Tree Hill' Days

Chad Michael Murray is opening up about his first marriage to Sophia Bush and how he had his first experience with agoraphobia during his One Tree Hill days.

For those who don’t know, Chad and Sophia met on the set of One Tree Hill back in 2003 and then were married for five months in 2005. The marriage was eventually annulled.

In a new interview, Chad explained why he got married so young.

“I was a baby. I didn’t know up, down, left, right,” Chad told The Cut. “You move out there and you go, ‘Well, what am I supposed to do now? Get married? That’s exciting!’”

Chad is now married to Sarah Roemer and they share an 8-year-old son, a 7-year-old daughter, and an 8-month-old daughter.

During the One Tree Hill days, Chad says he was “far more fragile than I ever put on… Everyone starts telling you ‘Yes.’ But I was walking around with a really pained heart.”

Chad still deals with agoraphobia today, but it first started affecting him when he achieved fame at an early age.

“I was around 23 and I had an event in Miami, but I couldn’t leave my hotel room,” he said. “The world felt like it was closing in; I was having anxiety attacks.”

Chad recently discussed sequels to two of his beloved movies.
