Martin Scorsese Showcases Massive NYC Apartment in TikTok Tour
With a career in the film industry dating back over half a century, Martin Scorsese has amassed quite a collection of movie artifacts over the years. With so much success, he's also been able to build the New York City apartment of his dreams.
In recent months, the 81-year-old legendary director has found fame with Gen Z thanks to his appearances in his daughter Francesca's TikToks. On May 20, Francesca and her dad gave a tour of their sprawling apartment, starting in a hallway lined with movie posters and emulating the popular "We're 'X,' of course 'Y'" meme format.
"We're movie lovers; of course we have film posters all over our house," Francesca said. Offscreen, her Oscar-winning dad can't help but give her some direction.
"Do that again. Do it again. It has to have more," he said. "You know, you're proud of these posters. You're happy to have these posters." When she repeated herself with more energy, he told her to tone it down. "It's too big," he corrected. "Take that down a bit. Do it in-between."
Then, Scorsese himself jumped in. "We're movie lovers, so of course we have a couple of cameras around anyway," he said, showing off an old-school camera with film reels.
The Killers of the Flower Moon director then took viewers into his home theater. "We're movie lovers, so of course we have [Turner Classic Movies] all the time," he said as a black-and-white movie played on the screen behind him.
Scorsese then showed off some of his prized film possessions.
"We are movie lovers, so of course we have some movie memorabilia around. Like for example, this is the original red shoes from the great film The Red Shoes," he said, pointing to an empty display case. "But right now the red shoes are loaned out to an exhibition somewhere. Sorry!"
"We are movie lovers, so of course we have things from movies, like the automaton from Hugo," he continued, posing next to the prop from his 2011 film.
Francesca ends the video with a nod to her father.
"We're movie lovers; of course it's, like, impossible to choose a favorite filmmaker," she said. As the camera zooms out, it reveals her shirt with her dad's image and the name "Marty."

With likely many more film industry artifacts in his home, it's safe to say that it can easily be turned into a museum.
