Sunny, offshore and chest high

0

Hello Friends,

Mostly sunny skies for the kick off Monday morning. A brisk 10-16 kt westerly was grooming the incoming 2.7 metre, 9-second period SSE swell. At Dee Why point the waves mostly looked to be in the waist to chest plus range, with the odd sneaker set keeping things interesting. Not many people in the water that I could see up the beach from there, but waves were consistent and consistently bigger than at the point. Tide was high at 0550 and is currently running out to 0.6 m low at noon. There’s a 60% chance of a shower, most likely this afternoon.

Outlook for the coming week is for likely offshore mornings and waves in the chest high range, give or take, through to the weekend. Gotta love autumn!

Have a top old Monday everyone!

Weather Situation

A slow-moving high pressure system centred south of the Bight is extending a ridge to the east bringing settled conditions to the New South Wales coast. The ridge is expected to remain over the coast for the coming week as the high drifts towards Tasmania.
