I ordered a vegetarian carvery from my local restaurant but the dish I got left me in shock, it’s so bad

A HUNGRY diner was left with a cob on when she ordered a vegetarian carvery online — and got three giant tubs stuffed with just sweetcorn.

Cassie Kilby picked the meal from a Stonehouse Carvery via the Too Good To Go app, which sells lefover restaurant food.

But the graphic artist ended up with three boxes of just one veg.

Cassie, of Cardiff, wrote online: “Really trying to see the funny side in this one but I’m actually still in shock it’s so bad.

“Ordered 3 of a ‘Vegetarian Carvery’ from a place near me.

“I was so excited to have it for a late tea, and this is what they gave us.

“The worst part is my partner doesn’t even like corn.”

The post left followers in hysterics, with one laughing: “I love sweetcorn but not that much.”

And another said: “At least you’ve retained your sense of humour.”

The firm’s website carries plant-based chicken options or a meat-free and diners are told: “From picking your favourite freshly carved, slow-cooked meats, into loading your plate with unlimited vegetables, potatoes, sauces and gravy, we’ve got all the ingredients for your perfect carvery on a Sunday and it’s just as good on every other day of the week!”

The meat-free option is usually £6.99 but the firm sells its leftovers on the Too Good To Go app for £2.29 a portion.

Stonehouse Carvery was asked to comment.
