Report: Serie A club ‘remain interested’ in Spurs star after failing with January move

0

According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have not given up on their efforts to land Radu Dragusin and are continuing to keep their eye on the centre-back’s situation after failing to land him in January.

Dragusin has not had the easiest of starts to his Tottenham career, having struggled for starts since arriving at the club from Genoa in January.

It was reported by The Sun earlier this week that Napoli could make a shock move to sign him from Spurs, just a few months on from his arrival in North London.

The report added that Tottenham would only consider letting the Romanian leave the club this summer if they receive an offer of around £40m.

However, Football Insider subsequently rubbished the claim on Tuesday, insisting that Spurs have no intention of letting the 22-year-old leave this summer and expect him to get plenty of chances next season.

Napoli are still in the hunt for Radu Dragusin

Corriere now reveal that Napoli have still not given up on Dragusin and continue to ‘remain interested’ in the centre-back.

It is explained that the Serie A side were quite keen on landing the player in January and even matched Tottenham’s offer but the defender chose the Premier League side instead.

The publication adds that Napoli continue to admire the former Genoa man and although he is not their top centre-back target, they would be prepared to take him back to Italy under the ‘right economic conditions’.

Spurs Web Opinion

Dragusin was excellent against Man City and is likely going to keep his place in the starting eleven against Sheffield United. The centre-half could thus have a strong end to the season and I do not see him agitating for a move this summer or Spurs considering any offer for the 22-year-old.
