Cowgirls Shut Out Northern Colorado to Open NCAA Regional

Oklahoma State's pitchers held Northern Colorado to just two hits and the Cowgirls beat the Bears 6-0 in the first round of the NCAA Regional in Stillwater on Friday.

OSU starting pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl did not give up a hit in five innings in the circle, and Ivy Rosenberry pitched the final two innings to complete the shutout.

Jilyen Poullard was the hitting star for the Cowgirls with a solo home run in the third inning, then a two-run double in the sixth inning that bounced off the top of the wall in left center.

It was originally ruled a home run, then downgraded to a double by replay review.

Rosie Davis drove in two runs for OSU with a double in the first inning and a single in the third.

Lexi McDonald drove in the other run with an RBI single in the sixth inning.

The Cowgirls will play Kentucky in the winner's bracket on Saturday at noon.

OSU has won 12 straight NCAA Tournament home games, and are now 13-0 in regional home games under head coach Kenny Gajewski.
