My lawn has come a long way since fall – I’m pumped about the results, try my step-by-step method for better grass

A HOMEOWNER has revealed how they transformed their brown lawn in less than a year.

They started the process in the fall, giving the outdoor space a whole new look.

Redditor Mfessler dished the details of their lawn glow-up on the social media platform.

“It’s come a long way since my fall overseed,” they said.

Overseeding is a lawncare practice that entails adding grass seed to an area without digging out the soil first.

It is a technique typically used to counteract browning areas on once green lawns.

HOW IT’S DONE

The Redditor said that the process took a while, but was worth the wait.

“Pumped with the results,” they said.

They gave their step-by-step method to achieve stunning results on a lawn that needs some tender love and care.

First, they “scalped everything down to one-and-three quarter inches.”

They followed up by dethatching the lawn twice, which entails taking a rake to the grass.

The lawncare fan chose to overseed the yard, using “Double Eagle Perennial Ryegrass.”

To top it all off, they used peatmoss — a type of soil mix.

The Redditor didn’t let their lawn go thirsty, watering it “twice daily for 30 [minutes].”

Finally they implemented a “starter fertilizer,” waiting four days post-seeding.

CROWD REACTION

The lawn transformation elicited rave reviews from fellow Redditors in the comments section.

“Damn that’s nice. To date my overseeding has only resulted in the fact that I threw some money away last fall,” one wrote. “Good for you.”

“You can probably thank those trees a lot,” another said.

“Looks like they give you a perfect combination of shade and sun.”

“So nice,” a third commented. “I want to roll around on it.”

“Hell yeah. Nice work,” one more said.

“I had success with my fall overseed, but not on this level. I probably need to apply two times the seed this fall.”
