Brittany Mahomes attended the Sports Illustrated Swim Issue Launch Party in New York City on Thursday, wearing strappy sandals.
Alongside her husband and current Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes, the retired soccer player arrived at the Hard Rock Hotel to celebrate the launch of the 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She was announced as 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie last February. The brand also celebrated its’ 60th anniversary with a star-studded guest list that included Chrissy Teigen, Gayle King and Tyra Banks.
During her latest outing, Mahomes sat courtside at Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Playoffs last week wearing white Dior high-top sneakers. For red carpet appearances, she often gravitates towards height-boosting heels like the black platforms she wore to Carbone Beach earlier this month. Earlier that day, she opted for comfortable white sneakers to visit the Miami International Autodrome ahead of F1 Grand Prix of Miami.
About The Shoes
Styled by Venetia Kidd, Mahomes slipped on a pair of silver sandals for the occasion. The leather upper was dressed with a sheen finish that covered the entire silhouette, from the ankle strap to the ones that created a criss cross design against the almond toe. The set brought height to the look with a stiletto heel that was about 4 inches tall.
Recently, many stars have been gravitating towards strappy silhouettes like Demi Moore, Ashley Graham and Venus Williams, who brought out a pair from Le Silla to attend the “Challengers” premiere last month.
About Strappy Sandals
Many designers update their sandaled styles with a strappy design to bring a unique look to the silhouette. The style first became popular in the 90s when top labels like Versace and Calvin brought playful sets to the runway. Although each silhouette differentiates itself in an original way, most sets are completed by a narrow footbed and a stiletto heel. Strappy sandals have kept a consistent presence in the retail market, however, it gained heightened popularity after designers like Yves Saint Laurent brought the trend back for their spring 2019 collections.
