Mumbai: Arjun Tendulkar replaced Jasprit Bumrah in Mumbai Indians playing XI for their last game of the season against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede stadium on Friday. While Arjun’s inclusion got heartwarming responses on social media, he also bowled a brilliant first over to Marcus Stoinis. He conceded three runs of his first over and also trapped Stoinis on his pads. He went up in appeal, and the umpire raised his finger. Earlier, MI captain Hardik Pandya won the tos and opted to bowl first as he believes the Wankhede is a good chasing ground.

“Chasing is better in Wankhede. It comes on nicer in the evening. It’s always about playing for the badge, playing for pride – all those words are important in the group. We know where we stand. But ending the season playing good cricket will always be appreciated. It gives us more freedom maybe to go out there and express ourselves,” Hardik said at the toss.

This is a big opportunity for Arjun to impress. He is in all probability share the new ball with Nuwan Thushara. MI will be in the search for an early wicket just to set the tone of the match.
