'When Lauren Boebert is embarrassed': The View weighs in after MTG sparks chaos
The chaos that erupted in the House Oversight Committee on Thursday evening left the co-hosts at "The View" debating whether Republicans in Congress have finally gone too far.
On the agenda was passing a contempt vote for Attorney General Merrick Garland, who refused to turn over a recording of Joe Biden speaking to Special Counsel David Weiss.
But the central focus quickly moved to a different topic as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) hit out at Jasmine Crockett (D-TX)'s fake eyelashes.
Congressional rules prevent personal insults in Congress, but Committee chairman Rep. James Comer (R-LA) didn't step in to stop Greene.

So, Crockett asked where the line was — and if it would be acceptable for someone to accuse another of being a "bleach blond, bad built, butch body?"
What The View co-host Sunny Hostin noted was that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called Greene out for her behavior. At one point, she told Greene, "Don't play." It's a note Greene should have backed off, said Hostin.
"When a girl from the Bronx says don't play, that's what that was about," said Hostin. "It shows just the utter, dysfunction of this Congress and the waste of our taxpayer dollars. I mean, I've just never seen anything like it. You see people like a Marjorie Taylor Greene who is just unfit for office. She's unfit. She lacks the decorum."
The audience cheered.
Ana Navarro said that if the woman on the panel knew anything, it was that false eyelashes don't impede anyone's ability to think.
But it was Alyssa Farah Griffin, who explained that she worked on the Oversight Committee and never saw anything like it, with "this level of un-seriousness."
Sarah Haines told the panel that Lauren Boebert also tweeted that she was embarrassed.
"We've reached a new level when Lauren Boebert is embarrassed," Haines said of the shock from her colleagues.
Navarro also noted that Boebert was abandoned by her colleagues at Trump's trial after she started screaming at someone in the crowd outside the courthouse who chanted "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice."
