Harry Kane hands England almighty Euro 2024 scare as Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel reveals serious injury
HARRY KANE has given England a massive Euro 2024 scare as he is currently injured with a back problem.
The Bayern Munich striker, who is in considerable pain, has been struggling with the problem for ten days and will miss the final Bundesliga game of the season at Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Gareth Southgate will name an enlarged “training” squad on Tuesday ahead of the Euros in Germany.
The Three Lions captain is certain to be included but his fitness is still a concern with the opening Euros game against Serbia less than a month away.
Kane played through the pain barrier in the 2-1 Champions League defeat at Real Madrid on May 8 and then missed Sunday’s 2-0 win over Wolfsburg.
The Bayern forward is now working at home with Canadian-based sports medicine specialist Dr Alejandro Elorriaga Claraco, who also helped cure his long-standing ankle problems.
Departing Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel said: “Harry is receiving treatment from his personal doctor. He cannot travel. He was already at the limit in Madrid. It was a borderline decision for him to play.
“He had a complete blockade in his back, it’s got worse and bothers him in everyday movements. There was no chance for him to participate in the game.”
Kane and the rest of the England squad are due to meet up at Middlesbrough’s training ground on May 29 ahead of a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Newcastle on June 3.
The Three Lions face Iceland at Wembley four days later before heading to Germany ahead of the June 16 opener against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen.
