Queen Camilla gives King Charles a telling off saying he needs to ‘behave himself’
Queen Camilla joked that the King would be ‘getting better’ if he ‘behaved himself’.
Speaking to guests at a garden party at Lamb House in Rye, East Sussex yesterday, The Queen said Charles was making progress but aired her frustrations that he was working too hard.
It comes after he packed in five major events in just 48 hours this week.
Charles’s medical team gave him given permission to return to public engagements at the end of last month as he continues to undergo treatment for cancer.
The Queen said the King, known for his hard-work ethic, was ‘quite cross’ he could not be at the garden party, adding he had been ‘dragged away to more menial tasks’.
The event included readings of EF Benson’s Mapp and Lucia by Oscar-winner Hayley Mills and actor Timothy West.
Mr West’s wife, Prunella Scales, who played Miss Mapp in the 1985 TV series, was also at the celebration, as was TV entertainer Gyles Brandreth.
When asked by a local schoolgirl if there was a fictional place she would like to travel to, Camilla replied: ‘One place I think I’d love to go is Hogwarts.
‘I’d like to jump on the Express and I’d like to go to Hogwarts and sit in that wonderful hall and wait for the hat to come round and pick a house for me.’
‘I’d like to look at Dumbledore, and Hagrid, and Snape, and see all the pictures going mad and people jumping out of pictures and the food flying about.
‘I think it would be a proper magical experience, and that’s a place I’d really like to go to.’
Earlier this week, the King opened up about the side effects of his cancer treatment.
It was revealed in February that Charles had been diagnosed with cancer after an unrelated operation to treat an enlarged prostrate.
It has not been revealed what type of cancer the King is suffering from – only that it is not prostrate cancer.
