Re: Tom Brady investment in Birmingham City revealed on Companies House

I agree, how you spend the money you have is much more important than the amount you have to spend.

But more budget to spend on transfers and wages does give you opportunities to go for players that you wouldn't have otherwise been in the market for. If it's even true as a ballpark figure that we have £30m to spend then that's massive for a league one club, and we shouldn't be beaten to players by anybody else in the league (or even half the championship) financially - even with half of that, that probably still rings true.

It's why I was talking about clarke harris the other day. It's not about missing out on him in particular, I don't care too much for him I think it would've been an alright signing at best. But there will be players leaving on frees that we could pick up that'd be great for us, and I hope we're still looking at those kinds of players despite the fact we have a lot more money to spend this summer. If we have £30m and spend £10m of it on 2/3 players of real quality, and the rest are equal quality frees and loans I'm happy. I don't want us to spend another £6m-£7m on a Sunjic just because we can. At the same time, it makes me much more comfortable with just effing off all the players out of contract, because we certainly will have more than enough money to more than adequately replace them and still bring in the quality we need in other positions.

That's why I'd be intrigued to know what we have available, but at the same time, I'm a fan. I don't need to know, and I'm sure if anything it'd be detrimental to the club to have a figure that people are confident we've got in the kitty, it just drives the prices of players up. It's just interesting to speculate about and get excited about.
