‘Need some’ scream parents as Aldi launch swimming nappies for the first time – just in time for summer
ALDI have released swimming nappies, as parents are getting ready for the summer season ahead.
With temperatures finally warming up and many families looking to head abroad for a beach holiday, the discount supermarket Aldi have launched nappies that are safe for swimming.
Unlike regular nappies, swim-proof nappies do not absorb liquids and can be used while the child is playing in the water – or learning how to swim.
Swim nappies help to contain solids and great if the little one poops while swimming – whilst regular nappies are designed to be absorbent to keep your baby dry when they pee.
This means that when submerged in water, a normal nappy will absorb water right away – and not only will it not help, the heavy diaper will also weigh your baby down and eventually fall off, the experts at The Wriggler explained.
The market is full of different swimming nappies – or the so-called swim pants – and now the German retailer has launched their version too.
Aldi’s Mamia Ultra Fit Swim Pants is designer for tots weighing between 12kg to 18kg and comes in a 12-pack.
The summer essential, which sells for £3.29, is ”designed with a special absorbent material that won’t swell up like a nappy”.
According to Aldi, soft material swim pants will ensure your baby is ”be comfortable and protected during water play” – and the bargain buy has already become a major hit amongst parents.
One Aldi shopper, Chelsea Yeates, took to Facebook to share the find on the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group.
”Aldi now do swimming nappies! First time I’ve seen them,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
Uploaded to the popular page less than 24 hours ago, Chelsea’s post has already racked up over a staggering 800 likes and 730 comments as people raced to inform their friends and family.
One customer of the store didn’t have any luck finding the swimming essential in her local branch.
”Unfortunately, not in my local Aldi,” the shopper moaned.
Another tagged their close one, writing: ”We need to get some for holiday.”
Someone else was wondering if there were more sizing options that would fit smaller babies too.
”Anyone know if it’s only 5-6 or do they do 3-4?
”Only seen them once in my store and was only 5-6.”
”That’s a good price for swimmers,” a fellow member of the group reckoned.
Does my child need a swimming nappy?
Swimming is one of the most popular fun activities for babies and kids – and not to mention, it also teaches them an essential skill.
But although investing in a swimming diaper may seem like a waste of money to some parents, many public pools can actually turn you away if your baby is not wearing swim-proof nappies.
As noted by the experts at Belle & Beau Little, even if your kids are potty trained, it might be best to keep them in a swim diaper for a while to avoid accidents.
Public swimming facilities require that babies and kids must use swimming diapers due to the following purpose:
- Prevent poop in the water
- Decrease the spread of fecal bacterial contamination
- Prevent spreading waste bacteria like E.coli.
- Prevent individual from getting such bacteria’s in and around the pool.
If you don’t have an Aldi store nearby, a bargain hunter revealed that rival ASDA were also offering the swim pants – and their product costs less too.
”Cheaper in ASDA for £1 less,” the customer said, sharing a screenshot of Little Angels by ASDA Swim Pants.
The £3 bargain contains 11 ”super-soft and secure” swimming nappies ”for confidence in the water”.
Dermatologically tested, the swimming must-have is ”easy to pull on and off”, thanks to its ”easy tear side seams”.
