Nonna Maria's in Halfmoon sold, closes for good

Nonna Maria’s Italian Kitchen, located at 1505 Route 9 in Halfmoon, has permanently closed as the restaurant has been sold. The restaurant first went up for sale in August as owner Gerry Cunsolo had been looking to retire.

HALFMOON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Nonna Maria’s Italian Kitchen, located at 1505 Route 9 in Halfmoon, has permanently closed as the restaurant has been sold. The restaurant first went up for sale in August as owner Gerry Cunsolo had been looking to retire.

The restaurant space was sold to the owners of Mi Mexico Lindo, which is located right next door. Cunsolo’s daughter, Daniela Abatto, said the Martinez family plans to expand their business into the former Nonna's space.

"We are proud and excited for Gerry and wishing success to the Martinez family on their expansion," Abatto told NEWS10.

The Martinez family could not immediately be reached for comment. Mi Mexico Lindo serves as both a restaurant and grocery store.

"An immense gratitude to our Nonna Maria’s family for the endless support, and for making these ten years amazing," read the Nonna's farewell Facebook post.
