TurboTax offers refunds to nearly 12K Oregonians after program error

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- About 12,000 Oregon taxpayers who used TurboTax for their 2023 federal and state returns may be able to get a refund.
Intuit, the makers of TurboTax, said the program might not have chosen the best option for some taxpayers, leading to a possible overpayment to the state.
The Oregon Department of Revenue said Intuit contacted the affected taxpayers and provided instructions for filing an amended return at no charge.
Instructions for how to file an amended return can be found on the Oregon Department of Revenue website.
Affected taxpayers have three years from the date their return was originally filed, or from the due date of the return - whichever was later - to file an amended return.
