Who is Eloise Bridgerton?

Eloise is the fifth Bridgerton child and the second eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family.

She is around 17 in the first season of Bridgerton and 18 in season 2.

In the Netflix period drama, her main storylines focus on her interest in discovering the identity of Lady Whistledown and her friendship with Penelope Featherington.

She officially came out in society in season two but was not named the diamond of the season.

Who plays Eloise Bridgerton?

Claudia Jessie Peyton plays Eloise Bridgerton.

Her character is the only person to work out who the mysterious Lady Whistledown actually is.

Getting her head around being in a global smash hit has taken some adjustment for Jessie.

“I do love it,” she told The Guardian. “Playing Eloise means I get to support my family and friends, which I never thought I’d be able to do. But I was surprised I was cast.

“And I was absolutely petrified to step on set – I still get nervous. Even going back for season three, I thought I was going to be sh*t, that they were going to fire me.

It’s something that never goes away”

Aside from Bridgerton, she is best known for her roles in the third series of WPC 56 and the ITV mini-series Vanity Fair.

She has also starred in the the fourth series of Line of Duty, and the Dave sitcom Porters.

Who does Eloise Bridgerton marry?

Fans have previously speculated that Eloise could have a queer storyline on Bridgerton.

In the series, she is notably reluctant to marry and prefers not to subscribe to the strict societal norms of that time.

Eloise does get married to a man in Quinn’s novels called Sir Phillip Crane.

The pair go on to have three children together called Penelope, Georgiana, and Frederick.

But the Netflix period drama doesn’t always strictly adhere to its source material, leaving the possibilities open.

Many fans believe that Eloise could be a queer character — and actress Jessie doesn’t disagree.

“I’ve always loved that there’s this coding that people have with Eloise,” Jessie told Business Insider in an interview ahead of the season three premiere.

There’s a strength in her that I think a queer storyline can connect”

“And I’ve always been touched by that as a notion with Eloise. But yeah, there’s definitely room for all of that.”

Sadly for Eloise, her relationship with Theo Sharpe came to an end after gossip columnist Lady Whistledown reported that she had been mixing with political radicals.

“I don’t think ‘Bridgerton’ would ever ignore romance. It is such a huge part of the show,” Jessie told BI.

“But the great thing about Eloise is that there’s so much room to play.”

Bridgerton bonk-fest

By Felicity Cross

WHEN Bridgerton landed during lockdown, it swept us all into a world of bejewelled gowns, lavish balls and endless bonking – and the world went mad for it.

Even the sexless second series didn’t damp down TV viewers’ lust for the Regency romp and fans have eagerly anticipated the arrival of the third series.

Fortunately, they won’t be disappointed.

The opener finally gives us some action from gorgeous series two newlyweds Anthony and Kate in scenes that would make your granny blush.

There’s drama and intrigue as the hunt for Lady Whistledown hots us, and laugh out loud comedy from the chaotic Featherington family.

But ultimately the season belongs to new romantic leads Colin and Penelope, whose will-they-won’t-they love story is fun, flirty and utterly believable and its, ahem, climax at the end of episode four will take your breath away.

Is Bridgerton still must-watch telly? Corset is.
