Assam Police to conduct yearly BMI test for personnel starting August 16

The Director General of Police, Assam, GP Singh, announced plans for professional recording of Body Mass Index (BMI) for all Assam Police personnel, including officers, in accordance with directives from the Chief Minister's Office. The initiative aims to assess the health status of personnel, with a focus on addressing obesity. Personnel categorized as obese (BMI 30+) will be given three months to reduce weight, with exceptions for medical conditions like thyroidism. Those deemed unfit for duty after assessment may be offered voluntary retirement.
