Rohit Sharma Has Support of Indian Players in Mumbai Indians, Overseas Stars in Favour of Hardik Pandya – REPORT

Mumbai: Things have gone from bad to worse for the Mumbai Indians as they became the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs race in IPL 2024. The latest coming out from the Mumbai Indians camp is that there is a clear divide between Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. A Dainik Jagran report claims that Indian players in the MI camp are in favour of Rohit, while the overseas stars support Hardik Pandya. It is now going to be interesting to see what are the calls MI take once the season is over. Will Rohit Sharma be released after the season?

A few days back there was a report that claimed that Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav along with Rohit Sharma got up and walked away when Hardik walked into the nets for a session.

Both the big stars – Rohit and Hardik – have been below par in this IPL. And that has reflected on MI’s performance. So their form has also been a concern and that does not augur well for India, who will be playing the T20 World Cup soon.

For Hardik, it has been a forgetful season. Amassing only 200 runs at an average of 18 and with the ball as well, he has picked up 11 wickets alright but his economy rate of 10.59 has hurt MI.

On the other hand, Rohit has scored 349 runs at a strike rate of 145 this year. He too has not lived up to expectations in this year’s IPL season.

MI play LSG on Friday in their last game of the season.
