12-year-old girl shot in Queens: police

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 12-year-old girl was shot during a brawl in Queens Wednesday night, police said.

Around 10 kids were involved in a brawl on a sidewalk outside the South Jamaica Houses at 106-22 160th St. around 7:50 p.m., according to the NYPD. During the brawl, two people approached the group and at least one of them opened fire, police said.

The 12-year-old girl was shot in the arm and has been hospitalized, police said.

A 26-year-old woman suffered a stab wound during the incident, police said. An 18-year-old woman also suffered a head injury, authorities said.

It's unclear what the group was fighting about.

Police are still searching for the two suspects. No arrests have been made.
