Annual Capital Region Business Hall of Fame induction ceremony held at Desmond Hotel

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Three business leaders were named to the Capital Region Business Hall of Fame on Wednesday.

The three inductees were the late William Lia, Sr., who was the founder of the Lia Auto Group, Ruth Mahoney, who is the executive vice president of Wealth Management and Regional President of NBT Bank, and Chet Opalka, who is the co-founder of Albany Molecular Research.

The dinner and induction ceremony took place at the Desmond Hotel in Colonie.

"I've always been in awe of the people who have been honored, and in some ways, it's hard to fathom I am joining that group tonight, but I am really honored and really humbled by that," inductee Ruth Mahoney said.

This is the 26th year of the dinner of the induction ceremony event.
