Rangers transfer 3-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer to 60-day injured list

Max Scherzer was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, when the Texas Rangers made a move they initially avoided at the start of the season when there was some hope he might return from offseason back surgery sooner than expected.
