A RARE supercar once owned by a famous rap star is up for grabs on the Facebook Marketplace.

The flashy motor once driven by Missy Elliot has just 3,000 miles on the clock – and it won’t be going cheaply.

The 2008 Spyker C8 Supercar is on the market for an eye-watering £476,000.

It is an ultra-exclusive vehicle and is one of just 266 examples built by the Dutch marque before it declared bankruptcy in 2010.

Spyker Cars wanted to make an impact when it arrived on the circuit in 1999, and it did just that by releasing a swanky supercar as its first model.

The marvellous motor was the C8, a bold vehicle that combined a jet-inspired design with driver-focused dynamics and a potent powertrain.

The ”Work It” rapper’s C8 is one of just 32 Laviolettes (Spyker’s name for the car) that were transported to the US.

Its gleaming body features a curved hood, louvred fenders, and a giant roof scoop.

The car is also the only left hand drive car in the black and ruby colour combination, according to the listing.

And the vehicle was also personalised by Missy Elliot herself, as she installed an aftermarket stereo system since the C8 did not leave the factory with one, which is hidden in the glovebox.

With upward-swinging swan-style doors and a two-seat cabin covered in quilted Ruby leather and aluminium trim, the car is said to be in good condition, with just 3,880 miles on the odometer.

The C8 is a purist’s dream since it does not include power steering, traction control, or anti-lock brakes, which are features that some petrol heads believe have ruined the longevity of modern supercars.

Elliott’s example is from the late stages of production and features a timing chain instead of the less-reliable timing belt that features in earlier cars, which also makes it easier to maintain.

The current owner is asking for over £476K for Elliott’s C8, which is more than double its original £218.8K sticker price.

They are open to a trade, though, suggesting there is room for negotiation.

The rapper only parted ways with the car two years ago, when she sold it to its current owner.

The ride has been detailed and serviced under its current ownership.
“It was originally owned by Missy Elliott and I bought it directly from her two years ago”, reads the listing.

“Spykers use the Audi 4.2L V8 and the availability of passionate experts makes the cars extremely easy to find parts for and keep running well.”

It comes as a Range Rover used by Queen Elizabeth and the Obamas went up for sale – boasting covert lighting and TVs.

The pristine motor covered less than 3,000 miles over two years of dedicated royal service.

It’s even possible that the Queen may have worked on it herself, having trained as a mechanic during the Second World War.

The car was registered in 2016 and snapped up by the late monarch’s husband Prince Philip, before being sold back through the Land Rover dealership network.
