Xi sends condolences to Brazilian president over deadly heavy rains

BEIJING, May 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday extended his condolences to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva over the deadly heavy rains in Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state.

In his message, Xi said he was shocked to learn that severe rainstorms hit Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state, causing heavy casualties and property losses.
