Formula 1 Driver Alex Albon Renews Williams Contract, Signs New Multi-Year Extension

Alex Albon has secured his future in F1 for the next few years!

The 28-year-old British Formula 1 driver, racing under the Thai flag, just signed a new multi-year contract with Williams Racing, extending his stay at the team.

“Signed and sealed ????️ Let’s get to work @williamsracing !” he shared on Instagram.

The team added on their account, “Here to stAAy ✍️ We’re delighted to confirm @alex_albon has committed his long-term future to the team! ????”

Alex joined Williams in 2022 after previously driving on the Red Bull team for two years and before that, Toro Rosso, which is now Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team.

“I am incredibly happy to be remaining with Williams Racing and to continue working with such a talented and dedicated team of people,” Alex shared in a statement. “It has been a difficult start to the year but since joining Williams we have made significant progress together and I have seen the huge changes happening behind the scenes to take us back to the front of the grid.”

“This is a long-term project that I really believe in and want to play a key role in which is why I have signed a multi-year contract,” he continues. “The journey will take time but I am confident we are building the right team to move forward and achieve great things in the years to come.”

Alex‘s current contract was up after 2025, and he has now secured his Formula 1 seat for several more years. He is currently placed 17th in the Drivers’ Standings, not having scored any points this season, so far.

“We are delighted to secure Alex‘s long-term future with Williams Racing,” Team Principal James Vowles said. “He has exceptional talent, technical input and dedication to the cause and this is a huge vote of confidence in Williams and the journey back to competitiveness that we are on.”

“Since joining, Alex has consistently demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure, and signing him for the long-term is a big piece of the puzzle of moving us up the grid,” James added.

Meanwhile, Alex‘s teammate Logan Sargeant, the only American driver on the grid, has been rumored to being let go from Williams.
