Part of I-87 southbound to close Saturday night

CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The southbound lanes of I-87 will be closed from exit 21 to exit 20 beginning at 11 p.m. on Saturday and ending around 7 a.m. on Sunday, weather permitting. Traffic will be fully shut down on the southbound lanes, but the northbound lanes will remain open.

The closure will allow workers to repair pavement on two crossover sections as a part of the $9.3 million project to preserve bridges on the thruway in Greene County. Drivers are asked to take alternate routes or avoid traveling in the area during these times. There will be detours in place for those who cannot avoid travel.
