Touring the Waterford Historical Museum
WATERFORD, N.Y. (NEWS10) - So much rich history waiting to be discovered at the Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center. NEWS10’s Cassie Hudson took a trip inside.
The Hugh White Homestead was built in 1830 by Joshua Clark of Cohoes for Hugh White. According to Elliot Gnirrep, the museum director, the building was scheduled to be taken down in 1964 and the village came together to save. After it was purchased for a dollar, it was moved to its current location for the purpose of establishing a museum and cultural center.
It is located at 2 Museum Lane, just off Saratoga Avenue (Route 32) in the town of Waterford. The museum is open Thursday - Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is six dollars for an adult ticket.
