September is the perfect month for a late-summer staycation, as daytime temperatures should still be around 15C.
It’s an excellent time for outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, and seeing the countryside because the weather should be pleasant enough without being too warm.
As the hectic summer season ends, you’ll also be able to take advantage of less crowded locations and activities.
Brits may even stretch their budget further during the shoulder season as many popular tourist attractions offer discounted rates before closing for the season.
The biggest bargains we’ve found are on four-night breaks, which start from £49 per stay (£3pppn).
