Long Lake man indicted, accused of murdering brother

LONG LAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Long Lake man was indicted on murder charges against his brother. Patrick Skerrett is accused of murdering his brother, Terrance Skerrett, 46, in Long Lake on December 2, 2023.

The Hamilton County District Attorney's Office says a conflict between Patrick and Terrance led Patrick to allegedly shoot Terrance several times in the face, chest, and extremities. Authorities say Terrance was seated on the couch when this happened.

The Hamilton County District Attorney's Office says an autopsy confirmed Terrance died from brain and facial injuries due to shotgun wounds to the brain and abdomen. The Hamilton County grand jury indicted Patrick on May 8 for first-degree murder, second-degree murder, three counts of intending to cause serious physical injury, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
