Smoke or fog? Lowered visibility in some areas

0

TOPEKA (KSNT) - You may experience some lowered visibility this morning, but is it smoke or fog?

Wildfires in Canada have been causing worsening air quality for a number of midwest cities. Parts of the upper Midwest and westward toward the Rockies, including Iowa, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin, saw the worst dips in air quality Monday morning, according to the EPA-affiliated U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI).

KSNT News Storm Tracker Ashton Rizzo says it's nothing to worry about as the air quality in Topeka is currently moderate.

Rizzo says a lot of the lowered visibility this morning is due to patchy areas of fog. Some areas could experience half-mile visibility. After the morning hours, the fog should clear out.
