Jurors in the Solano County Superior Court trial of a 35-year-old man found him guilty Thursday of several sexual assault charges.

Vladimir F. Luna Morones will face sentencing in the coming weeks in Department 11, where the jury found him guilty of two counts of oral copulation with a child under age 10; one count of attempted sodomy on a child under age 10; and one count a lewd act upon a child under age 14.

In a press statement issued Tuesday by Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams, court records show that between Jan. 31, 2019, and May 5, 2021, Luna Morones repeatedly took advantage of a position of trust by sexually violating a young child.

The victim testifed at trial.

Deputy District Attorney Amanda Hopper led the prosecution.

Fairfield Police Detective Jeremy Nipper investigated the case. DA Investigator Kathryn Lenke and Victim Assistant Andrea Vela provided assistance and victim advocacy throughout the trial.

Luna Morones, who was arrested on July 29, 2021, remains in custody in the Stanton Correctional Facility in Fairfield, with bail set at $750,000.

Judge William J. Pendergast has scheduled sentencing for 8:30 a.m. June 5 in the Justice Center in Fairfield.

In the prepared statement, Abrams, Solano County’s chief law enforcement officer and a fierce victims’ rights advocate, urged anyone who has been sexually assaulted — or knows someone who has — to call (707) 784-6827.
