India has robust institutional mechanisms in place to counter potential dumping of goods from China, a government official stated on Wednesday. This response comes amid concerns that China might resort to dumping in Indian markets following the US's proposal to increase tariffs on certain Chinese goods, including electric vehicles. The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), part of the commerce ministry, oversees anti-dumping duty, safeguard duty, and countervailing duty.
