Progressive policies weaken America’s global standing | GUEST COMMENTARY
It is time to ask a tough question: Why is our government making decisions that benefit our enemies at a direct cost to the financial and physical safety of Americans?
On immigration, military strategy and foreign relations, progressive politicians are setting policies that weaken America’s standing on a global stage.
Regional district attorneys are refusing to prosecute laws already on the books, mayors and police chiefs are tying the hands of officers through policies and intimidation, and the federal government is even suing the state of Texas to ensure the border stays porous. The Biden administration has even been caught flying immigrants into the country to the tune of hundreds of thousands of people.
This winter, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who is prosecuting Donald Trump, released from custody several migrants after they had been charged in the savage beating of two uniformed New York Police Department officers. The men, whose immigration status is unclear, walked free without bail, despite video appearing to show their participation in the attack. The risk to public safety was irrefutable.
The next step on the agenda is to blame you, the peaceful American citizen, for the violence and chaos before taxing you to solve the problem with political charades all designed to strip away personal rights and liberty. You can see this in the blatant censorship of anyone highlighting the dangers posed by a porous border. This is despite the fact we have seen hundreds of people who are listed on terror watchlists be caught crossing the U.S. border. This stance also ignores the large number of Chinese, Iranian, Russian and other foreign adversaries arriving unannounced at our borders — some even landing boats on beaches in broad daylight to scurry away into a caravan of cars awaiting them, as has been seen along California coastlines. This is coordinated.
And while the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the termination of a 20-year war against an undefined enemy was ultimately a positive step, the way in which Joe Biden’s administration handled that withdrawal and the ending of America’s longest war, was not only an international embarrassment but an invitation to the worst actors on planet earth to test their luck.
The end of the Global War on Terror showed our enemies we have lost our will to fight. We left Afghanistan running scared from a criminal organization in sandals. We showed the world our soft underbelly, and our enemies took note. Since the withdrawal we have seen Iran step up its aggression through proxy actors from Hamas to Hezbollah to the Houthi Rebels. From hundreds of rocket attacks targeting American service members still in Iraq and surrounding countries, to mass coordinated attacks like the Oct. 7th attack on Isreal, Iran has been targeting Americans and American Allies with a renewed fervor since our embarrassing withdrawal.
And Iran is not alone in showing aggression. China has been making aggressive and bold moves toward Taiwan. With the conflicts only escalating, the global stage is set for a direct conflict between world powers, all while American military strength seems to continue to falter and show our desperate desire to avoid conflict at all costs. Something is coming.
Society tends to make a mistake with great conflicts, expecting them to look the same as previous wars or battles. This will never happen, due to the advancement of technology and the advancement of tactics and the changing of war. Since World War II, we have seen the rise of non-state actors and the dissolution of uniformed militaries waring on battlefields. These actors are targeting civilians like never before and forever changing the landscape of conflict. Gone are the days of a symmetrical war with a named opponent. War is a game of power and strategy. When you have the power to push you do so. Why kill the enemy, when you can crush them and rule them?
China has backed our nation into a corner in areas from the economy to the border to the fentanyl crisis killing tens of thousands of Americans every year. They have bought out our educational institutions to the tune of tens of millions of dollars and corrupted America’s greatest strength, our children’s minds, through TikTok. China has bought and sold American politicians, Hollywood movers and shakers, but most importantly, American business muscle. They have weakened us from within “spiritually, morally and economically” just as Reagan warned Russia may do during the Cold War. It seems we may have overlooked our true enemy.
A new Axis of Evil is forming in the world: Iran, China and Russia along with their countless proxy agents and terror affiliates. Those powers are collectively sending their countrymen to our nation with no clear explanation of intention, across our southern border, largely unchecked and unstopped by the Biden administration. From criminals to terrorists, we have absolutely no control over who our enemies plant on our soil.
This administration has ushered in a new era of uncertainty and turmoil, not only for our nation but for the world at large. Is it all truly incompetence on a scale we have never seen before? Or something much, much more sinister?
