Construction underway on Saratoga County Airport improvement project

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Plans to upgrade the Saratoga County Airport are taking a step forward. State and local leaders said construction has started on a new terminal and aircraft hangar.

The airport is more than 80 years old. Crews are building a new waiting area as well as additional space for restaurants and car rentals. It will also be more energy efficient.

The project is estimated to cost $35 million. The state is providing $27 million through the Upstate Airport Economic Development funding.
