Tri City Rentals go smoke and vape free

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A local property management company is going smoke-free in all of their rentals in the coming year. Tri City Rentals sent letters to residents saying lease renewals will include a no-smoking agreement, prohibiting smoking and vaping in and around Tri City Rentals buildings.

The conversion process begins on Sunday, Sept. 1, with 100% cooperation from residents before September 2025. Depending on when their lease is renewed, some residents may not be prohibited from smoking during the transitional period.

Tri City Rentals said the change is to provide a safer and healthier environment for residents, guests, and employees. They added that the harmful effects of second and thirdhand smoke, and fire risks inspired the change.
