Spurs half time ratings vs Man City – Playing as if we don’t want to lose
Here’s how we rated the Tottenham Hotspur players following the opening forty-five minutes of action in this afternoon’s Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Ange Postecoglou’s side head into the break currently level at 0-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
N.B. – Ratings are purely based on performance rather than any bias to win/lose.
Guglielmo Vicario: His outstretched arm denied Foden what would have been a clear goal. 6.
Pedro Porro: Facing his former side, has done the basics well. 5.
Cristian Romero: Has enjoyed the physical tussle with Haaland and has not been afraid to bomb forward and try to join in attacking phases. 6.
Radu Dragusin: Just his third Premier League start. Looked slightly nervy in possession early on but has settled in. Made a good block on goal from a Silva shot and celebrated it like he had scored a goal. 6.
Micky van de Ven: Asked to operate in the left-back role where he has been giving Walker a fair bit of space. 6.
Pape Matar Sarr: Tasked with playing in a much more advanced role than usual, has seen plenty of the ball. 6.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: Operating in the number six role in the absence of Bissouma. His sliced effort nearly led to a goal for Foden. 5.
Rodrigo Bentancur: Had the first chance of the game when his shot was too direct at Ederson. Booked for a late tackle on Foden. A better pass just before half time would have opened up a decent chance on goal. 6.
James Maddison: Given a slightly different role this evening but has been unable to pull the strings.. 5.
Heung-min Son: Another quiet half from the captain, who would certainly benefit from the club signing a number nine this summer. 5.
Brennan Johnson: Has had some success up against Gvardiol but his end product is still not there. 5.
