So a pair of laundry whizzes have shared their easy tip to restore your towels to their very best.

And it could end up saving you money as you need to stop using a product.

Hazel Mckinnie and Claire Jenkins – who own the Wee Scotty Cleaners – regularly share tips to get your home sparking on TikTok, where the duo boast 93,000 followers.

In a recent video, the pair shared a “top wee tip on washing your towels”.

They said: “Did you know if you put fabric conditioner in your towels you’re actually damaging them and making them less fluffy in the long run?

“Basically the fibres of your towels don’t really like fabric conditioner so if you put it in your towels in the long run they will lose their fluffiness and that’s when you get a really hard towel.

“And you all tend to replace the towels after that.”

Hazel and Claire’s clip racked up more than 90,000 views with people sharing their own thoughts on the hack.

One said: “Never knew that thank you for the tip never knew that I usually put half a bottle in mine.”

A second added: “I don’t use fabric conditioner at all, waste of money.”

Meanwhile, a third revealed: “I use white vinegar instead of fabric softener.”

Someone else echoed: “If you put vinegar in it, fluff them back up.”

While another chimed in: “Vinegar to soften instead of fabric conditioner, works for clothes too and you won’t smell of vinegar fear not!”

And if you’re looking for more laundry tricks, a woman has been praised for a genius hack to get more clothes on the washing line – and it reduces the need for ironing as well.

Sammy explained that she uses the clever trick to make even more space for her laundry on the line.

Instead of pegging up T-shirts and tops, she places them on hangers, and then hangs them on the line.

“Saves so much space”, she gushed.
