Lok Sabha elections: SC refuses to entertain plea seeking poll ban on PM Modi
The plea sought disqualification on the ground that the PM has sought votes in the name of "God and place of worship" during the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. A division bench of justices Vikram Nath and Satish Chandra Sharma asked the petitioner to approach the relevant authorities. "For a writ of mandamus you must approach the authorities first," the bench observed. The petition was dismissed as withdrawn.
